Terms of Service
Effective May 2026
By downloading or using Famora, you agree to these terms. They apply to the Famora mobile app, the Famora website, and any related services we offer (together, the Service). If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. Who can use Famora
You need to be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA and UK) to use Famora. If you are creating profiles for your children inside your household, those profiles are not accounts — they belong to your household and only adults in the household manage them.
2. Your account and household
You can sign in anonymously, with email, with Apple, or with Google. When you create or join a household, you take on responsibility for the data you add and the people you invite. The household owner can regenerate invite codes, remove members, or delete the household. Please don't invite anyone to your household without their permission, and please don't use someone else's sign-in.
3. What you can and cannot do
You agree that you won't:
- copy, decompile, reverse-engineer or otherwise try to extract our source code or take it apart;
- resell, sublicense, rent or commercialise any part of Famora without our written permission;
- use the Service to upload illegal content, harass other people, or violate anyone's rights;
- scrape, abuse our APIs, run bots against the Service, or attempt to bypass rate limits and security controls;
- use Famora branding, logos or trademarks except as the Service itself displays them.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, especially if doing so protects other users or the integrity of the Service.
4. Your content stays yours
The events, items, recipes, photos and notes you add to your household belong to you. You grant Famora a limited licence to host, process and display that content solely so we can run the Service for you and the members of your household. We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to train AI models.
5. Subscriptions, free features and refunds
Core features of Famora are free. Some features — including AI Capture, recipe import and Google Calendar two-way sync — are part of Famora Premium, which is billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled. You can cancel any time from your device's subscription settings. Apple and Google handle refunds for purchases made through their stores according to their own policies; we can't process those refunds directly.
6. Updates, changes and discontinuation
We'll keep improving Famora. We may add features, change them, or remove them; we may also change minimum operating-system or device requirements as platforms evolve. If a change has a meaningful impact on how you use the Service, we'll do our best to let you know in advance. We may also need to discontinue the Service or a particular feature — if that happens, we'll give you reasonable notice and a way to export your data.
7. Third-party services
Famora is built with the help of third-party services, including Apple (sign-in, in-app purchases), Google (sign-in, Calendar API, Play services), RevenueCat (subscription management), Expo (push notifications), and the AI providers that power AI Capture. Your use of those services is also governed by their own terms; we are not responsible for what they do outside of Famora.
8. Device, connectivity and data charges
You're responsible for the device you use Famora on, including keeping it charged, updated and free of tampering (such as jailbreaking or rooting). You're also responsible for the internet connection and any data charges your mobile carrier imposes — including roaming fees when you use Famora outside your home country.
9. Accuracy of imported information
Features like AI Capture and recipe import extract structured data (dates, ingredients, times) from photos, audio or links. AI can misread or hallucinate details. Please review what Famora extracts before you rely on it — we're not liable for losses caused by acting on inaccurate extracted information.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
Famora is provided as is and as available. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Family coordination can be messy and software can fail; we encourage you to keep backups of anything you can't afford to lose.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Famora and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50, whichever is greater.
12. Termination
You can stop using Famora and delete your account at any time from the settings screen. We may suspend or close your account if you materially break these terms, but we'll try to give you notice and a chance to fix the problem first, unless doing so would harm other users.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page and notify you in-app or by email when the changes are meaningful. Continuing to use Famora after a change means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these terms removes any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
