Privacy Policy

Effective May 2026

Famora is a family-coordination app for sharing a household calendar, shopping lists, todos, recipes and meal plans. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We designed Famora to collect as little as possible — you can use it anonymously, and you can delete your account and your household's data at any time.

1. Information you give us

When you use Famora, the data you choose to provide may include:

  • Account basics — your name, email address and profile photo, if you sign in with email, Apple or Google. If you stay anonymous, we only store a random device identifier.
  • Household content — the calendar events, shopping items, todos, recipes, meal plans, notes and member profiles you create. Profiles you create for non-account members (such as children, pets or caregivers) live inside your household.
  • Photos and voice recordings — only when you actively use AI Capture to scan a flyer, import a recipe or dictate a task. We send the file to a vision or speech model for processing, then discard the file.
  • Communications — if you email support, we keep the message so we can reply.

2. Information collected automatically

When Famora runs, our servers receive standard technical data so the app can function and we can diagnose issues:

  • IP address, device model, operating system version, app version, and timestamps of requests.
  • Crash reports and error logs, which may include the screen you were on and the action that failed.
  • A push-notification token if you allow notifications, so we can send reminders for your events and todos.

We do not use this data to track you across other apps or websites. We don't run third-party advertising trackers inside Famora.

3. How household sharing works

Famora is built around households. Anything you add to a household — events, items, recipes, profiles — is visible to every other member of that household. If you leave a household, your personal account is unaffected, but your contributions stay with the household unless you remove them first. If you are the last remaining member of a household and you leave, the entire household is deleted.

4. Google Calendar two-way sync

If you connect Google Calendar, Famora uses Google's OAuth flow and only requests the calendar scopes needed to read and write the calendars you explicitly pick. We never read your email, contacts or other Google data. You can disconnect at any time from Famora's settings or your Google account's connected-apps page; doing so stops sync immediately. Famora's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. AI Capture (photo and voice)

AI Capture features (flyer scanning, voice todos, recipe import) send the photo, voice clip or URL you provide to a third-party AI provider for processing. We don't use your captures to train any model, and the providers we use are contractually prohibited from doing so under their enterprise terms. The extracted result (an event, a shopping item, a recipe) is saved to your household; the source file is discarded after processing.

6. Service providers we use

We rely on a small set of vendors to operate Famora. Each receives only the data necessary to do its job:

  • Cloud hosting for our API and database.
  • RevenueCat for managing subscriptions and entitlements. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous user identifier and your purchase history.
  • Expo Push Notifications for delivering reminders to your device.
  • Apple and Google for sign-in, in-app purchases and store distribution.
  • Vision and speech models for AI Capture, as described above.

7. How long we keep data

We keep your account and household data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account from settings, we queue an erase: your personal account is removed promptly, and your household's data is removed as described in section 3. Backups are rotated regularly and your data falls out of backups within 30 days.

8. Your rights

You can view and edit most of your data from inside the app. You can also email us to request a copy of your data, correct it or erase it. If you live in the EEA, the UK, or a US state with comparable laws, you have rights to access, correct, delete and port your personal data, and to object to certain uses. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below.

9. Children

Famora is intended for adults running a household. Adults may add profiles for the children in their family — these are descriptive entries, not accounts, and the child does not sign in. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has somehow created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use TLS for all traffic between your device and our servers and encrypt data at rest in our managed database. No system is perfectly secure — if you spot a problem, please report it to us so we can fix it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Famora evolves. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page and, for meaningful changes, notify you in-app or by email.
